Effects of Topical Coenzyme Q10 in Conjunction with Vitamin E on Tear Function Tests in Glaucoma Patients: Retrospective Study

Objective: To evaluate the effect of topical coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and vitamin E combination on tear function tests in glaucoma patients. Material Methods: A drop CoQ10 was inserted to one eye 28 patients with who have been using antiglaucomatous drops. The eyes that received constituted study group, other were part control group. Baseline, sixth, twelfth-month groups evaluated. Results: Baseline values Schirmer's test, meniscus, break-up time corneal fluorescein staining did not significantly differ between groups. When all at baseline, six, twelve months compared, no difference found while a statistically significant decrease observed mean meniscus areas depths group (p=0.038, p=0.041, respectively).
